Builder sites

Is my Lovable, Bolt, or v0 site visible to Google?

A generated app can look finished in the browser and empty in the HTML Google fetches.

Lovable, Bolt, v0, and similar builders often ship a client-rendered page. The first HTML response is a shell: a root element, a loader, or a few words. The headline and the paragraphs arrive after JavaScript runs.

Google can run JavaScript, and it does not always wait, and it is less likely to index a document with nothing to quote. AI crawlers are stricter. If GPTBot or ClaudeBot only receive the shell, they have no passage to cite.

Check with JavaScript disabled, or paste the URL into the free check and read the word count in the server HTML. If the check says the page is a client-rendered shell, move the title, description, H1, and the main paragraphs into the first response. A static export or server render of the public pages is enough. Leave the signed-in app as a client app.

Also look for a default noindex that some templates add, and for a robots.txt that disallows the whole site on a preview host. A preview URL is not your production host.

What to check

  • Disable JavaScript and reload the public page.
  • Confirm the canonical uses the production host, not a preview host.
  • Read robots.txt on the production host.

Fix prompt

Example prompt

This Lovable, Bolt, or v0 page should be visible to Google. Render the title, meta description, H1, and main copy in the server HTML. Remove a default noindex. Point the canonical at the production URL. Do not call an indexing API.

Questions

Does this mean those builders cannot rank?
No. It means the public HTML has to contain the page. Many projects do that with a server render or a static export of the marketing pages.
