ChatGPT-User
Fetching a specific page when a person asks ChatGPT to look at it.
- Who runs it
- OpenAI
- robots.txt token

- User-agent
- Mozilla/5.0 AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko); compatible; ChatGPT-User/1.0; +https://openai.com/bot
OpenAI lists ChatGPT-User as the user-triggered agent. Read their bots page for the current string and for how it treats robots.txt, because user-triggered fetches are not the same product as GPTBot.
ChatGPT-User shows up when a person asks ChatGPT to fetch a URL. It is not the background training crawl and it is not the search crawler.
Do not copy a GPTBot rule and expect it to cover this token. Write a ChatGPT-User group if you want a rule for it.
OpenAI's bots page is the source for whether this agent follows robots.txt. User-requested fetches are described separately from GPTBot, so check that page rather than assuming the training rule applies.

Questions
- Can I stop a person from pasting my URL into ChatGPT?
- robots.txt is a request to a crawler, not a lock. Authentication is what keeps a private page private.
